Who is responsible for your data
Glass Bag Recycling Ltd, trading as Junk Ireland, is the controller of your personal information. For any privacy question or request, email hello@junkireland.com.
Your rights
- See your data. Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, such as your photos, chat messages and booking details.
- Correct your data. Ask us to fix information that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data. Ask us to delete your personal information. We will delete it unless we legally have to keep it, for example financial records, which Irish law requires us to keep for 6 years.
- Limit how we use it. Ask us to restrict how we use your information, for example while we check that it is correct.
- Object. Object to us using your information based on our legitimate interests, including using your past job to improve our quoting service. You can object to marketing at any time.
- Take your data with you. Ask for the information you gave us in a common, machine-readable format, or ask us to send it to another organisation.
- Ask for a person. Ask a person on our team to review a price our system worked out, and tell us your point of view.
- Withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent, such as for marketing emails, you can withdraw it at any time.
Your photos and our AI assistant
Our AI assistant identifies what's in your photos. Our published price list sets the price. A person checks anything big or unusual.
We remove location data from your photos. Your photos and item descriptions are analysed by an AI model provided by Anthropic to identify the items. We do not send the model your name or contact details, and Anthropic does not use your photos to train its models.
We keep photos and chat details to provide your collection and to improve our quoting service. You can object to this, or ask us to delete them, at any time. To ask a person to review your price, email hello@junkireland.com.
How to make a request
Email hello@junkireland.com and tell us which right you want to use. Include the email address or mobile number you used with us, and your booking details if you have them. This helps us find your information and confirm that the request comes from you.
Making a request is normally free. We reply within one month. If your request is complex, we may need up to two more months, and we will tell you if so.
Some rights have limits. If we cannot do everything you ask, we will explain why.
Making a complaint
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us at hello@junkireland.com. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, the Irish data protection regulator, at dataprotection.ie.
