Terms of service

Last updated 28 October 2026

These terms apply when you get a price from Junk Ireland or book a collection with us. Please read them before you book. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

The short version

  • Your price is for the collection you book. Any price change on the day is confirmed with you before we collect. The price is not reduced if a listed item is not there or you decide to keep it.
  • You pay in full when you book. Cancel or reschedule free more than 24 hours before your collection, with a full refund. There is no cancellation fee.
  • Someone must be home on the day, or access must be agreed in advance.

This summary does not replace the terms below. Our price promise explains parts of these terms in plain English. It does not reduce your rights under these terms or the law.

Who we are

Junk Ireland is a brand of Glass Bag Recycling Ltd. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Glass Bag Recycling Ltd, trading as Junk Ireland. "You" means the person who gets a price or books a collection.

  • Company number: 669725
  • Registered address: 35 Ashford Street, Dublin 7, D07 N8F8, Ireland
  • Waste Collection Permit: NWCPO-25-13230-01
  • Email: hello@junkireland.com
  • Telephone (trader information): +353 85 868 6208

We handle prices, bookings and questions in writing, through the chat on our website and by email. To reach a person, email hello@junkireland.com. A person on our team will reply, usually within a few hours during business hours. Our business hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00.

Our service

We remove unwanted items from homes and businesses, such as furniture, appliances, garden waste and renovation fixtures. Every job has two loaders and a van. We do the lifting and carrying from anywhere in the property, including stairs, attics and gardens, and we sweep up after.

We bring what we collect to authorised facilities, where it is sorted for recycling or disposal, as our waste collection permit requires.

We cover Dublin and eight surrounding counties: Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath and Wicklow. We may decline a job outside this area.

You must be 18 or over to book a collection.

How your price works

You can get a price on our website by sending photos of your items to our AI assistant, by typing a list of your items, or by choosing items from our price list. In these terms, "your price" means the itemised price we show you in the chat (sometimes called a quote).

Our AI assistant identifies what's in your photos. Our published price list sets the price. A person checks anything big or unusual. The AI assistant does not set or change prices. Your price is made up of:

  • a call-out and labour charge for your county, which covers two loaders and the van, and
  • a fixed price for each item listed on your price.

All prices include VAT. The total shown is the price you pay for the items listed.

Your price covers the items listed on it. Check the list before you book. If an item is missing, counted wrong or not going, you can change the list before you book: add or remove items, change quantities, or describe other items for our assistant to match to the price list. We then work out your price again from the price list. You can also ask a person to check your price before you book.

Large jobs, business jobs, jobs that include items not on our price list, and jobs where the photos or description are unclear are checked by a person before we confirm the price. This also applies if a change you make to your list needs checking.

A price is valid for 7 days. After that, ask us for a new price. We may change our prices from time to time, but a change does not affect a price that is still valid or a booking we have confirmed.

Booking and payment

When you accept your price in our chat, you choose a collection slot and pay the full price online. Payments are processed by Stripe. You can pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Your booking is confirmed once your payment succeeds. The contract between us is made at that point. We then email you a booking confirmation, which includes your receipt with VAT shown. Business customers can use this receipt for their accounts.

The amount you pay is the total on your price. It only changes as described in the next section: if you agree to a price change for extra or different items, or if we cannot collect the job as described. It is not reduced if a listed item is not there or you decide to keep it.

On the day of your collection

When the crew arrives, they check the items against your booking. One of three things happens:

  1. 1The items match your booking. We collect them. There is nothing more to pay.
  2. 2There are extra or different items. We'll confirm any price change with you before collecting. Prices for extra items come from our price list. If you agree, we take them and tell you how to pay the difference. If you do not agree, we collect only the items on your booking, at the price you paid.
  3. 3We can't collect the job as described. We'll explain why and refund as appropriate. This can happen, for example, if the items include materials we do not take.

If there are fewer items than listed. Your price is for the collection you booked: the van, two loaders and the items listed on your booking. If an item listed on your booking is not there on the day, or you decide to keep it, the price stays the same. We do not reduce the price or refund any part of it for items we do not collect for these reasons. Please check your list before you book. If your plans change, you can cancel free of charge more than 24 hours before your collection and book again with a new list. This does not affect your statutory right to cancel, or your rights if we do not provide the service as agreed.

In the rare case that a job is very different from the photos or description you gave us, and we cannot collect it, we refund what you paid minus the call-out and labour charge. That charge covers the crew's trip.

What we do not take

We do not take:

  • rubble, concrete, soil, tiles or bricks
  • paint, chemicals or oil
  • asbestos
  • gas cylinders
  • medical waste
  • tyres or batteries in bulk
  • any other hazardous waste

If your photos or description include any of these, we will tell you that we cannot take them. If we find them on the day, we will leave them. Please do not put these materials inside bags, boxes or furniture. They can be dangerous for our crew.

Your responsibilities

To help us do the job safely and at the price you paid, you agree to:

  • describe and photograph accurately all the items you want removed
  • only ask us to remove items that you own or have permission to dispose of
  • make sure someone aged 18 or over is there at the agreed time, or agree access arrangements with us in advance, for example leaving the items outside, or arranging for a neighbour, relative or executor to let us in
  • tell us in advance about anything that affects access, such as parking restrictions, gates, narrow stairs or no lift
  • remove anything you want to keep from drawers, wardrobes, bags and boxes, because we cannot return items once we have collected them
  • disconnect appliances from water, gas and electricity before we arrive
  • keep children and pets away from the work area while we work

To agree access arrangements, reply to your confirmation email or email hello@junkireland.com before your collection day.

If we cannot get to the items at the agreed time, we will contact you to agree what happens next.

Our responsibilities

We will:

  • provide the service with reasonable care and skill
  • come at the agreed time, or tell you as soon as we can if we are delayed
  • take reasonable care of your property while we work
  • bring what we collect to authorised facilities, as our waste collection permit requires

If we have to cancel or move your collection, for example because of severe weather or a vehicle breakdown, we will tell you as soon as we can and offer you a new time. If the new time does not suit you, we will cancel the booking and refund what you paid in full.

If we do not provide the service with reasonable care and skill, please tell us. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, you can ask us to put it right. In some cases you are entitled to a price reduction or to end the contract.

Cancelling or rescheduling

You can cancel or reschedule free of charge more than 24 hours before your collection, and we refund what you paid in full. To do this, reply to your confirmation email or email hello@junkireland.com. If your collection is less than 24 hours away, please email us as soon as you can. There is no cancellation fee.

You also have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days. Our cancellation policy explains how both work.

Our liability to you

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is obvious that it will happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you booked.

If our crew damages your property, tell us as soon as you can, while the crew is still there if possible. Photos of the damage help us deal with it quickly.

We are not responsible for:

  • items you asked us to remove, once we have collected them
  • things left inside items we collect, such as drawers, bags or boxes
  • delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control
  • problems caused by inaccurate information you gave us, or by you not following these terms

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else where the law does not allow us to limit it.

Complaints

If you are not happy with our service, email hello@junkireland.com. Give your name, collection address and a short description of the problem, with photos if relevant. A person on our team will reply, usually within a few hours during business hours, and we will look into it.

You can get independent information about your consumer rights from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at ccpc.ie.

Your personal information

We use your personal information as described in our privacy policy.

We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your booking are the ones published on this page when your booking is confirmed.

Governing law
