Why people clear the attic or garage

  • Moving house: clear out first, so you only pay to move what you want to keep.
  • Converting the space: an attic bedroom, a garage gym or a home office.
  • Selling up: buyers want to see the attic and the garage, not the clutter.
  • Getting the car back in: reclaim the garage for what it was built for.
  • After a bereavement: for a whole home, see house clearance.

What we take, and what we can't

  • Old furniture: tables, chairs, shelving, broken wardrobes and bed frames
  • Boxes and suitcases: packed boxes, storage crates and old luggage
  • Sports and fitness gear: bikes, treadmills, golf clubs and skis
  • Christmas decorations: old artificial trees, lights and tinsel
  • Electricals: old TVs, stereos, monitors and gadgets
  • DIY leftovers: broken tools, old workbenches and timber offcuts

How we clear it

  1. 1We go up to the attic. Our loaders climb up and pass everything down, so you never need to.
  2. 2We empty the garage or shed. Point out what stays and we leave it where it is.
  3. 3We carry it all out. Down the stairs, through the house and into the van.
  4. 4We sweep up before we leave.

Before we come, look through old boxes for photos, papers and keepsakes. Once things are in the van, they go to an authorised facility to be sorted for recycling or disposal.

Attic and garage clearance prices

In Dublin there is a €100 call-out and labour charge for the van and both loaders, then a set price per item: €10 for a box of odds and ends, €10 for an adult bike and €30 for a treadmill. Prices include VAT, and every item is on our price list.

For a whole garage or attic clearance, confirm the contents, supported load size and access in the chat. One whole-clearance price replaces individual item charges, plus one county call-out. Uncertain loads, restricted access and multiple loads need staff review before payment.

Photographing an attic or a packed garage

Photos from the hatch are fine. Take one wide shot from the hatch or the garage door, then a few closer shots of the big pieces and the stacked boxes. If you can't get a clear view, type a rough list instead, such as 'about 20 boxes, two bikes and a treadmill', and we price those items.

Keep family photos and paperwork out of shot; we remove location data from your photos either way. You see every line before you book, so you can fix a miscount there and then. Get your price now, or read how the AI price works.

Questions

Attic and garage clearance: your questions

Anything else? See all FAQs or email hello@junkireland.com.

How much does an attic or garage clearance cost in Dublin?

Use individual item prices or confirm a supported whole-clearance load. Both add one €100 Dublin call-out and include VAT. Confirm contents, load size and access before booking. If you are unsure, ask for staff review.

Do you go up into the attic yourselves?

Yes. Our loaders go up into the attic or crawl space and pass everything down, so you don't need to.

What if there's more up there than I could photograph?

This price covers the items listed. If there are extra or different items on arrival, we'll confirm any price change with you before collecting. Extras are priced from the same list.

What if there is asbestos in my attic or garage?

We don't handle asbestos. If you suspect it, leave it undisturbed and contact a specialist asbestos contractor. Once it has been dealt with, we can clear everything else.

Do you clear garden sheds too?

Yes, the same way as garages. If the shed itself is going, a 6x4 shed is €110 and a 6x8 shed is €175. See garden waste removal for the rest of the garden.
